More Poomsae’s On The Website

Hello Y.S. Lee Family,

I hope your are all doing well and staying healthy. I miss you all so much!

I’m pleased to let you know that two additional forms (taeguek sa and oh jang) have been uploaded to our website: http://www.ysleemartialarts.com/resources/.

The first round of videos are instructional. There is a lot of talking to help you understand each move. Pfew…this is much harder than teaching in person! Once the instructional videos are completed, we’ll add videos of forms with just counting.

How was your focus on mindfulness last week? Did you do your forms in your head?

For this next week, lets focus on how to tie our belt. The video here is long. However, it’s thorough and traditional; just they way we do it at our school. Secondly, it emphasizes where the size tag is, or in the case of a black belt, your stripe(s). Did you know that when your belt is tied your stripes should be on the right hand size? Now we will all be experts in belt tying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4TaAF5FttA

This video is a little faster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFPsI2yMIhk

Undoubtedly, you will find many instructional videos on how to tie a taekwondo belt. Some show multiple ways of getting from point A to point B and I trust you’ll find one that works for you! The only thing to keep in mine is that traditionally, to complete the tie, the top should go over the bottom and not bottom over top.

I will be excited to see you all tying your own belts when you return to class.

Lastly, don’t forget to practice what we emphasize in class. Listen to your parents and do what they ask right away. Focus on the studies you have and be kind to your siblings. I know that this is a difficult time for everyone, but I also know that you are incredible kids and capable of making good choices.

Lastly, if you aren’t subscribed to our email list, please do so. We’ll send out emails as quickly as we have information, so it’s a great way to be get any updates straight to your inbox. https://www.ysleemartialarts.com/email/

Sincerely,

Master Lee
